MNSCBWI 2010 Summer Workshop Announced

The Minnesota SCBWI presents our 2010 Summer Workshop:

The Opportunities of Small Presses
Date:
Saturday, June 19, 2010
Time: Noon – 3:00 p.m.
Place: Elva Resa Publishing, 1890 Wooddale Drive, Suite 100, Woodbury, MN 55125
Fee: $25 members / $35 non-members
Registration at the door / Light refreshments

Join us at the office of Elva Resa Publishing to learn more about working with small presses. Karen Pavlicin, an award-winning author and partner at Elva Resa, will talk about the collaboration process used when creating children's books for its general-interest imprint, Alma Little, as well as its main imprint for military families. We'll talk about author, illustrator, and editor roles in the creative process and how those roles have played out in the creation and marketing of the company's most recent releases.

Authors and illustrators, please also bring your manuscripts and sketchbooks!  In the spirit of the workshop, we’ll be holding a special collaboration exercise to flex those creative muscles.

For more information, please download the event flyer.  We hope to see you there!
