Illustration Friday: Trail

The Tickle Trees illustration by Christina Rodriguez.

It's a blast from my past today!  This submission for Illustration Friday is from a project I took on back in 2003 when I was building up my children's book portfolio.  The story was based on a song written by Ed Rashed, about a family enjoying a fall stroll through the trees along a New England trail. Ed and I collaborated on this project for a little while, just for fun, and it remains one of my favorite portfolio pieces.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I can see why it's one of your favorites. It's a WONDERFUL piece--so alive, and full of action and color. What a happy family! What a wonderful day! It's all there in the picture.

Nice use of watercolor! It is a medium that could be hard to handle sometime....

Looks just like my boys! Nothing beats a nature walk and you captured it perfectly. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful art.

Nicely done. It looks like a typical family walk with the kids running ahead. It's obvious they are having a great time.
