Talk to Your Kids About Art School

I've always called art my "drug of choice," a joke perfectly illustrated by these great ads from Detroit's College for Creative Studies. These hilarious parodies of anti-drug campaigns draw the obvious parallel between drug use and what many consider an equally reckless and irresponsible activity: becoming an artist.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

(Regarding my blog) A real cat bath would be like the movie,"The Exorcist" But I bet Henley would sit cutely in the bubbles. And your post is hilarious! I had a friend inquire how my "hobby" was going once. That comment made my head want to spin around!

These are great. My brother spent a couple years at Parsons before deciding to be an engineer. Parents played a big part in getting him to realize his talent and apply to art school.

I feel you need to nurture your child's interest. My son spent so much time playing computer and board games. He's an avid reader. Now he's the lead designer at a game company. Sometimes they follow their heart.

These are funny but equally effective and thought-provoking illustrations.

It's funny because it's true. Oy. Both of my grandfathers were of the opinion that it was a waste of time and money to send a girl to college anyway, but adding art school to that was just laughable. Sigh.
